Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is an Indian Hindi Language television sitcom(situation comedy serial). One of India’s longest-running television family show to get unlimited fun and entertainment, it is produced by Neela Tele Films. The residents of a housing society help each other find solutions when they face common, real-life challenges and get involved in sticky situations. First episode date: 28 July 2008 Number of episodes: 3,268. New episodes are released from Monday to Friday on SAB TV. Reruns of the show started on Sony Pal on 2 November 2015.
The show is based on the column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma written by columnist and journalist/playwright Taarak Mehta for the Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha

Basic Plot of TMKOC
The series takes place at the Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society, an apartment complex in Powder Gully, Film City Road, Goregaon East, Mumbai, and focuses on the members of Gokuldham Society.
Almost all episodes start with, Jethalal being stuck in a problem, and Taarak Mehta, his best friend, whom he calls his “Fire Brigade”, rescues him. They help each other in their problems, to promote unity in diversity. Gokuldham is lively and often laughs. The members of Gokuldham celebrate all the festivals like a family and organize various events.
