Sooryavanshi (2021) is an Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions, and Cape of Good Films, based on a script by Yunus Sajawal, Farhad Samji, Sanchit Bendre, and Vidhi Ghodgadnkar and an original story by Shetty. The fourth installment of Shetty’s Cop Universe stars Akshay Kumar as Anti-Terrorism Squad chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi opposite Katrina Kaif with a supporting cast of Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer, and Jaaved Jaaferi. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in extended cameo appearances reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise’s previous films.

Sooryavanshi earned ₹26.29 crores at the domestic box office on its opening day.

As of 5 November 2021, The film grossed ₹31.30 crores in India and ₹8.01 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of ₹39.31 crores.

Complete Story of Sooryavanshi (2021)

The film opens with the protagonist, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the head of Anti-Terrorism Squad’s parents get killed in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts. Thereby a series of events are shown that more bombings were planned by Lashkar’s Chief Omar Hafiz. He forms a sleeper cell which includes 40 Terrorists who go to live in India posing as normal Indian citizens with a motive of planning more bombings after the 26/11 Attacks, one of whom is Omar Hafiz’s son Riyaz Hafiz. Then the film switches to the present day where after much effort Veer Sooryavanshi along with his team nabs Riyaz Hafiz living with a different identity in Jaisalmer.

It is revealed by Kabir Shroff, the man who solved the case during the 1993 Mumbai Blasts, One Ton of RDX was brought to India, of which 400 Kilograms was used during those bombings and that 600 Kilograms is still buried somewhere in India.

Veer plans to catch those remaining members of the sleeper cell until when he remembers his wife Ria Sooryavanshi, which sends the film to a 9-year Flashback, where a wounded Veer, who is shot by a bullet comes across Ria, a doctor. She treats him and they fall in love, get married and have a son. One day, Veer tries to nab a man where Ria and their son are present, which leads to their son getting shot. Doctors treat him and he gets well, but an angry Ria slaps Veer and tells him that no Police Officer would put his danger to fulfill his duty and starts living separately.

Back to the present, Veer questions, a Maulvi named Kadar Usmani who is later revealed to be a Terrorist and finds Bilal, whose house is the place where the 600 Kilograms of RDX was buried. Usmani and Bilal remove the RDX from the ground and prepare bombs for their next bombings until when Bilal leaves for Mumbai, where a Taxi Driver and his partner drop Bilal in exchange for 5 Crore Indian Rupees after which they flee to Bangkok. Veer and his team catch Bilal but he kills himself and dies. Then they question the Taxi driver and his partner in Bangkok and Veer learns that the Bombs were being made by Mukhtar Ansari, another member of the sleeper cell in Shivgadh.

Veer asks Sangram Bhalerao (Simmba) who is the Inspector of Shivgadh, to catch Mukhtar Ansari. Simmba learns that there 7 bombs were being planted in seven different popular locations of Mumbai. Riyaz Hafiz manages to escape and reveal that they were going to blow the Headquarters of the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Mumbai along with those seven locations.

Veer and his team take the help of the Army to take the bombs in cars away through Helicopters and eventually, the mission fails. But still, the headquarters was under attack and Riyaz Hafiz and their mates make Ria a suicide bomber.

Then comes the entry of Bajirao Singham, after which the trio diffuses the bomb wrapped around Ria and then fights all those who planned the attack and Veer reconciles with Ria.

The film ends with Veer Sooryavanshi, Sangram Bhalerao, and Bajirao Singham dancing for a track named ‘Ailaa Re Ailaa’.
